Event Gallery

Add an ordered photo gallery to an event, separate from its cover and card images.

  1. Install core and activate CalendarWP - Event Gallery.
  2. Edit an event and use its gallery controls to choose images from the WordPress Media Library.
  3. Arrange the images in the order visitors should see them.
  4. Choose Peek Carousel or Masonry, then configure captions, lightbox and navigation as needed.
  5. Save and check the Event Details Page and Event Overlay on desktop and a narrow screen.

The event cover is not automatically a requirement for the first gallery image. Add it to the gallery only when you want it repeated there. Use images you have permission to publish, add meaningful alternative text and keep files appropriately sized.

Customize and verify

Use the gallery controls for autoplay, entrance effects and image loading where offered. Check keyboard navigation and reduced-motion behavior when enabling movement. Captions should explain the image, not duplicate essential event information that visitors need elsewhere.

If a gallery is absent, confirm that the event has saved gallery images, the add-on is active and the customized template has not removed its output. If loading is slow, review image file sizes before increasing the number of initially loaded images.

Media Library attachments are not private merely because an event is private. Do not use the gallery as protected file storage. Removing an image from the gallery is different from deleting its attachment from WordPress.

Applies to Event Gallery 1.0.24.
