Personal Calendars

Assign an event to a WordPress user and display that user's assigned events when they sign in. Ownership is separate from the post's author.

Set up

1. Install current CalendarWP core and activate CalendarWP - Personal Calendars.
2. Edit an event and assign its dedicated owner.
3. Add a CalendarWP block and enable its personal-calendar option.
4. Publish the page and test as the assigned user, another user and a signed-out visitor.

Signed-out visitors receive a sign-in prompt. An administrator's management access is separate from the public personal-calendar display.

Privacy boundaries

Use the personal-calendar display, not public Upcoming Events, Events Map or Compass, for these records. Current core retains ownership protection when the add-on is disabled, deactivated or unlicensed; keep core active. The add-on remains necessary for its assignment and personal-display features.

This is not encrypted file storage or a private Media Library. An attachment's direct URL does not become private just because it appears in an owner-assigned event. Do not upload confidential files on that assumption.

Troubleshooting and removal

If the intended user cannot see an event, check the dedicated owner, sign-in account and personal-calendar block setting. Changing the post author alone is not the same as changing its owner. If another user can see protected content, stop publishing that content and report the exact route and permission setup privately.

Back up before changing core, ownership or removal settings. Retest with all three user states after permission or template changes. Read Privacy and data before uninstalling.

Applies to Personal Calendars 1.0.22 with current core. Older core versions before 1.0.58-rc14 do not contain the documented disable-state protection.
